Special Arrangement of F.1 Admission Assessment

Introduction

In view of the latest development of the epidemic, the Education Bureau (EDB) has announced further deferral of class resumption to 16 March the earliest (subject to further assessment). Together with the consideration of the potential risk of spreading the diseases during the crowded practical test and close contact during interviews, the F.1 admission selection process is to be adjusted as follows:

Admission Selection Process

  • Practical Test and Interviews are cancelled.
  • Admission selection will be based on the assessment of the materials provided by the applicants which reflects their past performances and attainments in areas of Academics, Sports/Visual Arts and Personal Development.
  • Applicants will be allowed to submit supplementary information which they planned to show to the teachers during the Practical Test and Interviews through an online platform.
  • Notification to parents of successful applicants will be deferred to 7 April.

Selection Criteria

Applicants’ performance in areas of Academics, Sports/Visual Arts, and Personal Development will be considered equally.

Academics

  • Exam performance in Chinese, English and Mathematics in P.5 and P.6
  • Rank order from EDB

Sports /

Visual Arts

  • Regular training received
  • Participation and performance in competitions
  • Achievement in competitions (local/regional/international)
  • High level attainment (e.g. district/region/HK representative)

Personal Development

  • Conduct
  • Extra-curricular activities participation and/or achievements
  • Services to school (e.g. prefect) or community
  • Special skills attained
 

Submission of Supplementary Information

  • Applicants may submit supplementary information which they planned to show to the teachers during the Practical Test and Interviews. Information that has been submitted together with the application form should NOT be submitted again.
  • This submission is OPTIONAL. Only relevant information may be useful for the admission selection.

Academics

  • Records of academically related courses/competitions, awards, certificates, etc.
  • Recommendation letters from school
  • Any other information related to the academic performance or achievements of the applicants

Sports /

Visual Arts

  • Records of sports/visual arts related training/courses, certificates, awards, etc. (e.g. proven letter of HK team/junior or regional squad member)
  • Photos/Videos of participation in sports/visual arts related activities
  • Photos/Videos of artworks portfolio produced by the applicants (for Visual Arts applicants only)

Personal Development

  • Records (e.g. certificates, photos, videos, etc.) of school/community services (apart from those recorded in report cards)
  • Records (e.g. certificates, photos, videos, etc.) of participation and/or achievements in extra-curricular activities
  • Records (e.g. certificates, photos, videos, etc.) of special skills (e.g. playing musical instruments, speech delivery, etc.) attained

Self-introduction

  • Video of self-introduction in English

Technical advice

  • Please note that a valid Google account is needed for accessing the platform. Only one submission can be done with one Google Account. Please use another Google Account to submit in case your family has more than one applicant.
  • Please read and follow the onscreen instructions carefully.
  • Digital copies of the document(s) should be prepared beforehand. For each category (Academics, Sports/Visual Arts, Personal Development), only one SINGLE PDF file is allowed. One of these mobile apps (e.g. Microsoft Office Lens, Adobe Scan, Tiny Scanner, CamScanner, etc.) is recommended.
  • For photo/video# of participation in Sports/Visual Arts related activities, a maximum of 10 files is allowed (Total size < 100MB).
  • For photo/video# of Personal Development, a maximum of 10 files is allowed (Total size < 100MB).
  • For video# of Self-introduction (3 min. max.), the file size should be less than 100MB.
